Accra City Conference Donates Relief Items to Flood Victim

On Tuesday, October 31st, 2023, a team led by ACC President Ps. S. O. T. Hammond, Ministerial and Family Ministry Director Ps. Emmanuel Gaizer, and Health Ministry Director Ps. Prince Obed Sewor, presented the relief items to SGUC.

Ps. S. O. T. Hammond emphasized the church's commitment to helping those in need and shared the purpose of the donation: to bear each other's burdens as a community of faith. Ps. Chris Lambert, the Personal Ministry Director of SGUC, received the items on behalf of the Union, expressing heartfelt gratitude to ACC for their generous support during these challenging times.

The recent flooding has had a devastating impact, causing families to lose their possessions and livelihoods. Local churches have been submerged, and the Agbozume Maranatha Adventist School has become inaccessible due to the flooded schoolyard. The effects have reached around 300 church members, in addition to thousands of community members who have been severely affected.

The Southern Ghana Union Conference is reaching out to individuals, families, churches, and institutions willing to support this humanitarian effort. Contributions of relief items such as tents, foodstuffs, clothing, water, medicines, and cash will greatly assist the displaced communities. You can contact ADRA Ghana and your local district, conference, or mission to provide your support to this noble cause. Your contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of those impacted by the flood.
