FOUNDATION STONE LAYING CEREMONY AND FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR GHANA POLICE MULTIPURPOSE AUDITORIUM
A significant milestone has been achieved in the history of the Ghana Police Adventist Church, as a Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony and Fundraising event were held for the construction of the first-ever Ghana Police Multipurpose Auditorium. The ceremony took place at the Ghana Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, and brought together personnel, trainees, church leaders, and well-wishers in a spirit of unity and purpose.
The event was graced by several dignitaries including Pastor Dr. T.T. Ocran, President of the Southern Ghana Union Conference (SGUC); Pastor Dr. Chris Annan Nunoo, Executive Secretary of the SGUC; Pastor Dr. Bright Osei Yeboah; Pastor Dr. Kwame Annie Boahen, President of the Northern Ghana Union Conference (NGUC); Pastor Dr. Kingsley Osei, General Manager of Advent Press; Pastor Dr. S.O.T. Hammond, President of the Accra City Conference (ACC); Mrs. Elizabeth Kusi-Nsiah, CEO of AHCOF; Chaplain General DCOP Very Rev. George Arthur; ASP Mark Baah, Commanding Officer of the Ghana Police Training School; directors from various unions and conferences, representatives of Adventist institutions, and other esteemed guests.
In his sermon, Pastor Dr. Kwame Annie Boahen drew inspiration from Ezra 1:7–8, referencing the rebuilding of the temple under Zerubbabel's leadership. He emphasized that, like in biblical times, when God leads a building project, His presence ensures success.
The fundraising session witnessed generous contributions from Union and Conference offices, Adventist institutions, and individual members, all committing financially to the realization of the multipurpose church auditorium. Additional pledges were made to continue supporting the project in phases.
Following the service, a symbolic sod-cutting ceremony was held, led by Pastor Dr. Kwame Annie Boahen and Pastor Dr. T.T. Ocran, signaling the official commencement of construction.
In an interview, ASP Rev. Charles Obeng Boampong, Chaplain of the Ghana Police Church MPTS, speaking on behalf of Chaplain General DCOP Very Rev. George Arthur, expressed the Ghana Police Service’s excitement and commitment to the project. He emphasized the Service's recognition of the crucial role religion plays in shaping the moral and spiritual lives of police personnel.
Pastor Marfo, Chaplain for the Adventist Police Service, also spoke to Hope Adventist News (HAN), outlining the purpose of the project. He extended heartfelt appreciation to all who contributed—including Unions, Conferences, institutions, the Ghana Police Service, and individuals—for their unwavering support.
In his remarks, Pastor Dr. T.T. Ocran made a passionate appeal to church leaders, institutions, organizations, and members across the country to support the building of this sacred edifice, which will not only serve as a house of worship but also a center for spiritual renewal and community support.
This historic initiative marks a new chapter for the Ghana Police Adventist community and stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, faith, and vision.
