GC VICE PRESIDENT ENDS “GOASO FOR CHRIST” EVANGELISTIC CAMPAIGN WITH BAPTISM
Pastor Geoffrey Gabriel Mbwana, one of the Vice Presidents of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists based in the United States, has successfully concluded a 10-day evangelistic campaign in Goaso, Ghana, which culminated in the baptism of 20 souls to the glory of God.
The campaign, dubbed “Goaso for Christ,” was held from May 21 to 31, 2025, and was organized by the Green-View Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The initiative formed part of the Church’s global mission to reach the cities with the unadulterated gospel of Jesus Christ.
Throughout the ten-day series, participants were not only spiritually nourished but also physically supported. Health professionals were present to conduct various medical screenings and offer essential health tips, while pastors and elders held counseling sessions for those in need of personal or spiritual guidance.
As part of his visit, Pastor Mbwana made a stop at Ahafo Kenyasi, where he inspected an ongoing mental health facility under construction. He used the opportunity to encourage the church members there to remain steadfast in their faith journey. The Vice President was warmly received with a guard of honour by the Youth Department in a grand assembly held at Kenyasi.
In an interactive workshop with the Conference's workforce, Pastor Mbwana expressed heartfelt appreciation for their commitment to the Lord’s work. He charged pastors and church workers to remain diligent and take advantage of every opportunity to evangelize, stressing that all signs point to the nearness of Christ’s return.
Speaking to Hope TV, Pastor Mbwana shared his joy at visiting Ghana, particularly Goaso. He confirmed the famed hospitality of Ghanaians and expressed amazement at the enthusiastic turnout each evening, even during nights of heavy rain.
The campaign also received strong support from evangelism teams ANNOUNCE and BAASA from Valley View University in Accra, who stayed in the community for about 25 days. Their involvement included house-to-house visitations, Bible studies, prayer sessions, and youth engagement. They were joined by the Conference Lay Team—recently trained and certified—who played a vital role in supporting all evangelistic activities.
At the close of the campaign, all newly baptized members were presented with Bibles, mosquito nets, Adventist literature, and other essential items as tokens of love and encouragement. In appreciation, the Conference also presented gifts to Pastor Mbwana and his family for their time, service, and spiritual leadership.
Some of the new members who spoke to Hope TV described the experience as life-transforming. One participant shared, “Being baptized during this campaign is a beautiful experience. I pray to meet Pastor Mbwana in heaven when Jesus returns.” Another testified, “Even though I’m not an Adventist, I attended every meeting. The messages were different, profound, and have left an indelible mark on my heart.”
The “Goaso for Christ” campaign stands as a remarkable testimony of how committed evangelism, compassionate care, and Spirit-led preaching can draw souls into the kingdom of God.
