As part of their annual activities, the Antoakrom Federation of the Adventist Youth Ministry in the Ashanti South Ghana Conference has successfully organized its Annual Drills and Bands Competition. The vibrant competition took place at the Poano Adventist Basic School Park, where remarkable performances unfolded from all the participating districts.
The competition encompassed five districts within the Antoakrom Federation: Antoakrom District, Manso Datano District, Manso Edubia District, Manso Nkwanta District, and Poano District.
Among the five districts that participated, three were chosen to represent the federation at the upcoming Inter-Federation Drill and Band Competition at the Conference level. These distinguished districts included Manso Edubia, Poano, and Manso Nkwanta.
Reflecting on the purpose behind the program, Federation President M.G. Joseph Ofori expressed gratitude for the program's success and attributed it to the divine. He highlighted the judges' recommendations, signaling an evident improvement across the various districts.
During an interview, Conference Youth Director Pastor Uriah Osei Mensah commended the participating districts for their impressive skills and high turnout, a result of the dedicated efforts of their instructors. He emphasized that such programs foster unity between the Church and the community. Pastor Uriah encouraged the youth to uphold virtuous character wherever they find themselves, urging them to sacrifice to uphold both human and divine values for the benefit of themselves and the nation.
Elder Osei Robert, Chairman and guest speaker of the event, urged the youth to channel their efforts into striving for a prosperous future. Elder Robert stressed that by working diligently alongside their spiritual practices, the youth can avoid becoming burdens to families and churches while resisting the temptation of laziness.
The competition also acknowledged excellence, as medals were awarded to individuals and churches that demonstrated exceptional performances in various sections of the competition.
Ultimately, the Manso Nkwanta district clinched the coveted title of overall winner for the third consecutive time, a remarkable achievement that earned them a well-deserved trophy.
