ASHANTI CENTRAL YOUTH MINISTRIES GRADUATES SENIOR YOUTH LEADERS

The Youth Ministries Department of the Ashanti Central Ghana Conference has successfully graduated over 100 senior youth leaders who enrolled in a specialized leadership training course. The graduation ceremony took place on July 12, 2025, at the Ashanti New Town Seventh-day Adventist Church, in a colorful and spirit-filled event.

The ceremony was graced by several officiating ministers, including Pastor Jonathan Owusu, President of the Ashanti Central Ghana Conference; Pastor Uriah Osei Mensah, Youth and Music Director of the Ashanti South Ghana Conference, who also serves as the Youth Advisory Secretary and Music Council Secretary of the Mid-Ghana Union Conference; Pastor Abraham Kofi Anane, Youth, Music, and Health Director of the Ashanti Central Ghana Conference; Pastor George Essel, Executive Secretary of the Conference; and Pastor William Agyei, District Pastor of the Ash-Town SDA Church.

Representing the Mid-Ghana Union Youth Director, Pastor Uriah Osei Mensah enlightened participants on the current operational structure of the Youth Ministries, highlighting the evolving leadership roles within the Adventist Youth Ministry and the critical need for well-trained leaders to guide the next generation.

Certificates of participation and completion were awarded to all successful trainees by the officiating ministers, acknowledging their commitment and hard work throughout the leadership course.

In an interview with Hope Adventist News, Pastor Uriah Osei Mensah made a heartfelt appeal to the youth, urging them to take active roles in the Senior Youth Ministry. He emphasized the need for young people to rise and fill leadership positions as the older generation gradually transitions out of active service.

Pastor Jonathan Owusu, President of the Ashanti Central Ghana Conference, also encouraged the youth during an interview with Hope Adventist News. He charged them to participate actively in all church activities, using their talents and leadership skills for the advancement of God’s work in their churches and communities.

Pastor Abraham Kofi Anane, who coordinated the leadership course, gave a brief background on how the program was initiated and the significance of such training for the growth and sustainability of the Youth Ministries within the Conference.

Some of the newly graduated participants shared their joy and gratitude in interviews with Hope Adventist News, expressing how the course had equipped them with essential leadership skills and deepened their understanding of service within the church.

The ceremony was crowned with a vibrant marching display by selected members of the Adventist Youth Ministry, symbolizing their readiness and commitment to serve.

The event left a lasting impression on participants and leaders alike, reinforcing the Conference's commitment to empowering the youth for effective leadership and ministry in the Adventist Church.
