ANWIANKWANTA SDA DISTRICT DONATES TO WIDOWS AND HONOURS YOUTH PATRONS AT ANNUAL CAMP MEETING
The Anwiankwanta District of the Seventh-day Adventist Church held a touching and impactful program during its annual camp meeting, dedicating the day to supporting widows and widowers across the district. The initiative, valued at over GHC 15,000.00, provided hope, comfort, and encouragement to many vulnerable families.
The program was spearheaded by Mrs. Agartha Osei-Mensah, wife of the District Pastor, Pr. Uriah Osei Kwadwo Osei-Mensah, who, together with the church leadership, mobilized members, friends, and well-wishers to extend compassion to the needy.
Donations presented included food items, clothing, cash support, and a symbolic cake cutting to mark the celebration of God’s faithfulness. In addition, all widows and widowers in attendance were treated to a special lunch, reflecting the church’s commitment to holistic and inclusive care.
A significant highlight of the event was the recognition of two outstanding patrons of the Young Ladies and Young Gents Ministries for their unwavering dedication and support: Madam Gladys Kwafoah, based in Canada, Elder Kwaku Nuako, based in Australia.
Their contributions have greatly enhanced youth ministry in the district, inspiring the younger generation to remain steadfast in their Christian walk.
The program also enjoyed the support of prominent individuals, including Mrs. Olivia Asubonteng, CEO of Olivia Guest House; Chief Inspector Martin Akrofi, Divisional Police Officer, Bekwai-Ashanti; and Mr. Daniel Okyere, a businessman at Anwiankwanta. Their presence and donations added to the day’s significance.
In addition, several church members gave generously in cash and kind, demonstrating the spirit of Christian unity and sacrificial giving.
In his closing remarks, Pastor Uriah Osei-Mensah expressed profound gratitude to all donors and participants. He reminded the congregation of the biblical mandate to care for widows, orphans, and the less privileged, quoting James 1:27: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…”
The event concluded with an atmosphere of joy, thanksgiving, and renewed dedication to Christian service, community impact, and love in action.
