SAKORA WONOO SDA CHURCH LAUNCHES CENTENARY ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Sakora Wonoo Seventh-day Adventist Church, located in the Kwabre East Municipal Assembly of the Ashanti Region, officially launched its Centenary Anniversary Celebration at the church premises.

The colorful and spirit-filled event was graced by members, leaders, and invited guests, with Elder Dr. Peter Okrah, a USA-based staunch Adventist, serving as the Guest Preacher.

In recounting the church’s history, the First Elder, Elder Emmanuel Bandele, revealed that the Sakora Wonoo SDA Church was established in 1926 through the dedication and sacrifice of some pioneering members whose vision and commitment laid the foundation for the growth of the church. He emphasized that the Centenary Anniversary marks not just a milestone of years but also a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the resilience of the church community.

Delivering a short but powerful sermon, Elder Dr. Peter Okrah urged members to emulate the example of the early founders by contributing more, both physically and spiritually, towards the continuous progress of the church. He stressed that just as the pioneers sacrificed their time, resources, and energy for the growth of the church, today’s generation must also rise to ensure that the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church thrives for generations to come.

In an interview with the media, Elder Dr. Okrah also provided further insight into the establishment of the church, highlighting how the hand of God has guided the Sakora Wonoo congregation through challenges and victories over the past 100 years. He encouraged the members to remain faithful stewards as they prepare for the climax of the anniversary.

The Centenary Celebration is expected to feature a year-long program of activities, including evangelism, community service, health outreach, and thanksgiving events, all geared towards impacting lives and giving glory to God.
