ASHANTI CENTRAL GHANA CONFERENCE INAUGURATES ELDERS’ WIVES ASSOCIATION

The Ashanti Central Ghana Conference has officially inaugurated the Elders’ Wives Association in two zones: the Yennyawoso Aryano SDA Church in the Kumasi Sector, and the Effiduase Central SDA Church in the Effiduase Sector.

The inauguration was graced by distinguished personalities including Hon. Ibrahim Adams, District Chief Executive of Sekyere East; Nana Konadu Yiadom, Effiduasehemaa; Mr. Baa Akyamfour, Acting Secretary of the Ashanti Regional NDC; Pastor Jonathan Owusu, President of the Ashanti Central Ghana Conference; Pastor Alexander Opoku, Conference Treasurer; and Pastor Robert Adomako, District Pastor, among others.

In his address, Pastor Jonathan Owusu, who inaugurated the association, charged the newly elected executives to work diligently to advance the mission and vision of the group. He emphasized that the association should not only serve as a support system for elders’ wives but also as a platform for spiritual growth, mentorship, and community service.

Pastor H. E. Diaba, Ministerial Secretary of the Conference, offered a special prayer for God’s guidance and blessings upon the association, its executives, and all its members, asking that the Lord grant them wisdom, unity, and strength for the task ahead.

Speaking to Hope Adventist News, Mrs. Comfort Obiri Yeboah, President of the ASCG Elders’ Wives Association, appealed to all elders’ wives across the conference to join the association. She outlined their mission and vision, stressing the importance of unity and mutual support among members to enhance both family life and church service.

Also addressing the gathering, Shepherdess Mrs. Mary Owusu, Coordinator of the Ashanti Central Ghana Conference Shepherdess Association and Patroness of the Elders’ Wives Association, shared highlights of her sermon. She encouraged the women to stand firmly with their husbands in ministry while also nurturing their own spiritual and leadership potential.

As part of the event, a fundraising segment was held to support the activities and operations of the newly inaugurated association.

The inauguration of the Elders’ Wives Association marks a significant step in strengthening the support system within the Ashanti Central Ghana Conference, ensuring that both elders and their spouses are fully equipped to contribute to the growth and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
