Aworowa District Ends Young Ladies Retreat

The Aworowa District of the Seventh – Day Adventist church in the Mid – North Ghana Conference has held a 3 – day retreat for the young ladies in the district. The program which brought together over 50 young women was held at the Tua Memorial Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Krobo in the Techiman North District.

The retreat was designed to teach young Adventist women about the Lord's ways and to equip them with the skills necessary to be responsible wives and women in the church and in society at large.

One of the facilitators, Pastor Atta Ankomah, preaching the sermon emphasized that sex education is necessary for our young adults in the church to help them become more responsible with their sexual lives. He highlighted his concern with the general church's and parents' lack of sex education. According to him, young adults may only resist their sexual inclinations when they receive the proper sex education.

The retreat was also utilized to provide a special prayer and dedication to about 32 young ladies who have chosen to maintain their bodies for the glorifying of the Lord. These 32 young women were introduced by Madam Florence Ayeah, the Conference's leader for women's ministries. A special prayer of dedication was offered for these young women by the district pastor, Pastor Emmanuel Kwadwo Asare.

Speaking to Hope Adventist News, the district pastor, Pastor Emmanuel Kwadwo Asare was moved by the young women's attendance and overwhelmed by the sheer number of them who had made the decision to be faithful to the Lord till marriage. He asserts that doing so will bolster their Christian faith and commitment to the Lord's work.

Some participants sharing their experience, to them, the retreat has impacted their lives.

The Conference gave these 32 young ladies initiation certificates, and family members also contributed some presents.
