GNAAS Campaign Yields 74 Souls

As part of their yearly initiative known as "Tertiary Vacation Evangelism," the Ghana National Association of Adventist Students in the Northern Ghana Union Conference held evangelistic campaigns in conjunction with the Youth and Public Campus Ministries of the Green-view Ghana Conference from October 9–22, 2022. both in Kenyasi and Sankore.
As the great commission of the Adventist church, evangelism is a priority for the Green-view Ghana Conference. The officers joined as the outreach's major speakers as well, demonstrating the field's dedication to GNAAS evangelism. In addition, provided a sizable financial donation towards the campaign.
During the period, 25 student missionaries were based in Sankore, while 35 were based in Kenyasi. The 35 Kenyasi missionaries spent their time to visiting homes, businesses, and public places to invite town folks to evening services, where three pastors preached the unadulterated word of God each night. By fully implementing the Total Membership Involvement strategy, the student missionaries undertook a number of activities in the community, including cleaning up the town market, constructing a shed for an elderly woman, carrying water for some disabled people, and assisting the Kenyasi church with concrete work on their new structure, among other things.
The GNAAS participated in the outreach with a variety of clothing and footwear that they distributed freely to those in need in the neighbourhood. Given their extreme poverty, the recipients of this act were greatly relieved.
In addition to the health lectures that accompanied the word of God each night, health trainees among the student missionaries conducted health screenings to raise awareness and instruct the community on healthy behaviours intended to promote strength and lifespan.
On the last Sabbath of the Campaign, an investiture service was also held to honour worthy young people. A unique prize was awarded to a pathfinder named Isaac K. Asare who converted his friend Jason Alan Abban to Adventism by marching, drumming, and trumpeting.
At the end of the campaign, 74 souls were baptized to the glory of God comprising 26 at Sankore and 48 at Kenyasi.
The GNAAS President, Mr. Samuel Gyamera in an interview mentioned other evangelistic outreaches the Second cycle student missionaries have also embarked upon within some other Conferences in the Northern Ghana Union Conference that has yielded about 200 baptisms.
Speaking to some of the students’ missionaries, they expressed their joy and fulfilment for being part of the I WILL GO mission and encouraged others to grab the opportunity as it comes.
Pastor Kusi-Appiah, the director of conference public campus ministries, was astounded by the conduct and enthusiastic disposition of the visiting Adventist student missionaries. He was delighted to confirm that, as a result of the combined efforts of GNAAS and the Adventist Youth, the operation "Win 100 souls for Christ" within a year had already been accomplished. He also exhorted the nation's young Adventists to follow in the footsteps of the student missionaries who travelled to Sankore and Kenyasi to share the three Angels' messages and win souls in order to speed the impending arrival of our Savior Jesus Christ.
The church has planned to continue Bible studies and revivals, intensify follow-up visits with the converts, and finally try to meet their physical needs in order to help them maintain their new faith.
