MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT DONATES EXAM MATERIALS TO SDA SCHOOLS
The Member of Parliament for the Old Tafo Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has extended his support to students preparing for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) by donating essential examination materials.
The beneficiaries of this generous gesture were students from Scales Adventist Preparatory School and MacNeulus Adventist School, both under the Mountain View Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The donation comes just days before the commencement of the national exams, which are scheduled to take place from June 11 to June 19, 2025, across more than 2,000 examination centers nationwide.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony held on June 2, 2025, at the Old Tafo SDA Church, Hon. Assafuah encouraged the candidates to remain focused and diligent in their studies, reminding them that success is often born out of dedication and perseverance. He urged them not to lose confidence, especially in subjects they find challenging, but rather to face them with renewed determination.
“I am a living testimony of how far education can take you,” he told the students. “Don’t be discouraged by difficult subjects. Push through, and you’ll see the results.”
In an interview, Mr. Akwasi Antwi, the Assistant Headmaster for Academics at MacNeulus Adventist School, expressed deep appreciation for the MP’s continued support. “This is not the first time Hon. Assafuah has supported us,” he noted. “It has become an annual tradition, but this year’s donation is even more significant and timely.”
Speaking on behalf of the students and staff, Acheampong Kwabena Gyimah, a BECE candidate from MacNeulus Adventist School, conveyed heartfelt thanks to the MP. “We are truly grateful to Lawyer Vincent Ekow Assafuah for showing us this love and encouragement. It means a lot as we prepare to take this important step in our academic journey.”
The event was not only a show of generosity but also a reminder of the strong bond between community leadership and education. It reinforced the value of investing in young minds and the role such support plays in shaping the future.
