MID GHANA UNION ORGANIZES MAIDEN VETERANS MASTER GUIDE RETREAT
The Youth Ministries Department of the Mid Ghana Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church successfully organized the maiden Veterans Master Guide Retreat from Tuesday, May 20 to Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Kessben University College, located at Kuntanase in the Bosomtwe Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Ghana.
This historic gathering brought together over 100 veterans of the Adventist Youth Ministry across the Union territory.
The retreat was not only a time for reflection and fellowship but also an opportunity to honor about fifteen distinguished veterans with special Master Guide class honors. The recognition was led by Pastor (Retired) Abraham Peter Mensah, a former Youth Director of the Central Ghana Conference, whose service to the ministry continues to inspire the next generation.
A significant highlight of the retreat was the election and inauguration of new officers to steer the affairs of the Veterans Master Guide Club under the Mid Ghana Union Conference. The election was supervised by Pastor Dr. Alexander Agyapong, Executive Secretary of the Union, and Pastor Uriah Osei Mensah, who represented the Union’s Youth Ministries Department.
In an interview with Hope Adventist News, Elder Master Guide Oppong Mensah, the newly elected President of the Veterans Master Guide Club, shared the vision behind forming the club, emphasizing the need to continue mentoring and inspiring young people through lifelong service.
Pastor (Retired) Master Guide I.K. Konadu, immediate past President of the Mountain View Ghana Conference, also shared the Club’s future plans, which include outreach initiatives, mentorship programs, and support for active youth leaders across the Union.
Elder Master Guide Nii Botchway expressed profound appreciation to all individuals and organizations who supported the retreat, particularly the donors whose contributions made the event a memorable success.
The retreat ended on a high note, with renewed commitment from all veterans to remain actively involved in the work of the Lord and to support the Adventist Youth Ministry through prayer, service, and mentorship.
