The Vice Chancellor, Professor William Koomson, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and congratulated the Class of 2025 for their resilience and accomplishments. In a solemn moment, he led the congregation to observe a minute of silence in memory of eight students and staff who had passed away during the academic year. Prof. Koomson further outlined the strides made by the university in recent years, highlighting academic growth, community service projects, and a record graduation of 12 PhD students this year. The occasion also witnessed a historic moment when the President of the Southern Ghana Conference, Pastor T. T. Ocran, formally introduced the newly elected Vice President of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Dr. Osei Bonsu, himself a proud alumnus of Valley View University.
