The Women’s Ministries Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ghana, representing the three unions, successfully organized a National Women’s Ministries Prayer Conference from September 23–28, 2025, at the University of Ghana, Legon campus. The spirit-filled gathering was held under the inspiring theme: “Fill My Cup, Lord: Set Free and Send.”

The event drew a record attendance of over 7,000 women from across the country and beyond, making it one of the largest gatherings of Adventist women in recent years.

A major highlight of the week was the Women’s Ministries Leadership Certification Graduation, where more than 1,023 women graduated, fully equipped for ministry and leadership in their local churches and communities.

The distinguished lineup of dignitaries included Dr. Mrs. Omobonike Sessou, General Conference Associate Director of Women’s Ministries and former WAD Women’s Ministries Director, who served as guest speaker; Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, who was the special guest of honor; and the presidents of the three unions — Ps. Dr. T. T. Ocran, Ps. Dr. Kwame Annor-Boahen, and Ps. Dr. Edward Nyarko. Also in attendance were Women’s Ministries Directors of the unions, including Mrs. Christiana Agyenim-Boateng, Mrs. Vida Linda Gyasi, and Dr. Mrs. Matilda Obeng Kyereh, as well as conference directors, pastors, and other notable leaders.

The program featured intensive fasting and prayer sessions on the second and third days, with intercessions for women, children, the church, and the world at large.

In her powerful Sabbath sermon, Dr. Sessou drew from the lives of women in the Bible, encouraging all women to be obedient, courageous, fearless, and mission-minded, ready to respond to God’s call in their homes, churches, and communities.

Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, in her address, reminded the gathering of the vital roles women play at home, at work, and in the community. She emphasized that women find their true purpose when they turn fully to the Lord. She also donated ₵10,000 to support the ministry.

A special appreciation ceremony was held in honor of Dr. Mrs. Omobonike Sessou for her years of selfless service and dedication to the work of God during her tenure at the Division. She received precious gifts, while in turn, she also presented meaningful items inscribed with Scripture verses to Women’s Ministries directors and leaders.

The evening of Saturday was marked with moments of deep reflection, including a communion service, half-night prayer, and candlelight service, which created a solemn and unforgettable atmosphere.

The conference climaxed in an atmosphere of thanksgiving, worship, and renewed commitment, leaving participants spiritually revived, equipped, and inspired to go forth and make an impact in their families, churches, and communities.
